Environmental Impact and Risk Assessment (EIRA) of Hydrocarbon Production and Refining Facilities

Workshop Objectives:

The petroleum industry is an essential element of the Gulf region and is therefore of vital importance to the health and welfare of the region. A complete and thorough understanding of the operation of the petroleum industry and its impact on the environment is required to be known by the policy makers and practitioners. The proposed workshop on Environmental Impact Assessment of industrial and Petroleum facilities deals with the regulations, techniques related to the assessment of the baseline environmental quality, prediction of impacts of the industrial activities, risk based mitigation measures, environmental management plans and post monitoring of industrial establishment scenarios. The workshop also includes the group exercises and case studies.
